Why use the dashboard

One screen, every active project

No more clicking through five tabs to remember what's pending. The dashboard shows live status for every project with a quick action you can take right now.

Surfaces what's blocking revenue

Outstanding invoices, unanswered quotes, and milestones approaching deadlines all bubble to the top so cash and momentum don't slip.

Drag-and-drop your own layout

Reorder widgets to match how you actually work. Some contractors live in the Job Board widget, others in Today's Schedule — make it yours.

Most-actionable-first ordering

Sections are ordered by what needs your attention. New jobs and pending approvals appear above passive metrics, so you don't scroll past the urgent stuff.

Each widget — what it does, when to use it

Job Board snapshot

Three or four open work orders posted near you, filtered by your trade and service radius. Tap any to jump straight into the bid builder.

When to reach for it

Every morning. Even on busy days, peeking takes 5 seconds and missing a hot bid takes a week of revenue.

Active projects

Cards for every project in flight with progress bar, next milestone, and last activity timestamp.

When to reach for it

When a client calls and asks 'how's it going' — open this card on your phone, hit the project, see the latest activity.

Pending quotes

Quotes you've drafted or sent that haven't been accepted yet, sorted by how long they've been sitting.

When to reach for it

Anything past 5 days deserves a follow-up message. The dashboard makes it obvious which ones to nudge.

Outstanding invoices

Sent invoices that haven't been paid yet, with a 'days overdue' indicator on anything past due date.

When to reach for it

Pre-Friday cash check. Nothing here is more important than collecting on completed work — chase aggressively past the 30-day mark.

Today's schedule

Calendar events for today and tomorrow tied to projects — site visits, client meetings, walkthroughs, deadlines.

When to reach for it

First thing in the morning. Confirms what's planned and surfaces conflicts before they bite you.

Recent activity

Stream of every recent change across your projects — quote responses, milestone updates, payments, messages.

When to reach for it

When you've been off for a day. Quickly catch up on what moved without opening every project.

Common scenarios

Client called asking about progress on a project

Open the Active Projects widget, tap their project, scroll to Recent Activity. Last 3-5 events show what was logged today and yesterday — read those back. Don't promise anything not in the system.

Wondering whether to chase up a quote you sent

Pending Quotes widget shows 'sent X days ago.' Anything past 4-5 days = use the AI assistant ('send Sarah a follow-up on the Henderson quote') or open the quote and hit the Message button.

Friday cash review

Outstanding Invoices widget. Sort by days overdue. Anything 30+ days, send a reminder. Anything 60+ days, escalate to a phone call. The dashboard surfaces this automatically.

Looking for new work between projects

Job Board snapshot widget shows the freshest 3-4 work orders matched to your service area. If those don't fit, click 'See all' to open the full marketplace at /job-board with filters.

What to watch out for

Widgets feel cluttered or wrong-ordered

Hit the customize button (top-right of dashboard). Drag widgets into the order you prefer. Hide the ones you don't use. Layout saves per-user, so your phone and laptop stay in sync.

Active Projects shows zero

Either you have no won quotes (check Pending Quotes — anything still 'sent' that should have flipped to 'accepted'?) or your client hasn't accepted the quote yet. The flow is: quote → accept → project. The bridge is on the client's side.

Job Board snapshot empty

Your service radius might be too tight. Open /account → Profile → Service radius. Default is 25 miles; bump to 50 if you're in a less dense area. Also confirm your ZIP is set correctly.

Recent activity doesn't show client messages

Quote and project messages live on their own threads. The activity feed shows status changes, not chat. Open the Chat Hub (top-right) to see all unread client messages in one place.

Use the assistant from the dashboard

Bottom-right chat icon. Ask about any widget — "what's overdue", "any new jobs near me", "which quotes are pending the longest" — and the assistant answers from the same data shown on screen.
